Khwe Collecting Basket (Small)

Woven collecting basket of the Khwe San people indigenous to Namibia, traditionally used for collecting fruits, nuts and tubers.

These nearly extinct style has been revived in recent years. Khwe women produce the baskets seasonally when palm is available. 

The varied colors are extracted from the roots, leaves and bark of local plants.

Each basket is unique and hand woven, one of a kind.
